- ISBN The ISBN number (International Standard Book Number) is a unique number which is assigned to each edition of every book published. Usually found on the copyright page or on the back cover of the book, this number is the most accurate indication of the specific title you want. Often times, the ISBN number found on the back cover of complimentary copies references the "instructor copy", NOT the student edition. If you are ordering a package, please be sure you get the correct ISBN number from the publisher representative for the specific package you want. Publishers have numerous editions and combinations of materials, and each one has its own unique ISBN number.
- Author/Editor Please list the full name.
- Title Please indicate the entire title, and include the subtitle if there is one.
- Edition/Year Please indicate the edition and copyright year of the text you wish to use. Use of old editions requires special arrangements with the textbook manager. Titles with known upcoming new editions will be noted on preprinted requisition forms.
- Publisher The publisher's name and/or imprint is required. Please provide address, telephone, and fax information for special sources and small presses.
- BD Please indicate the type of binding (e.g. paper, hard cover, spiral, comb).
- You will be asked if the book will be used more than one semester and if it ’s required or recommended (optional)
Should you have questions regarding price, edition, availability or any other textbook questions, please call our textbook department. The department numbers are 753-2090, 753-4630 or 753-2089.You may also e-mail the Book Department Manager, David Brower at mailto:collegestore@cortland.edu

How do I go about ordering my own custom course pack?
The College Store provides copyright clearance, production services and sales for your custom course packs. Duplicating materials from a variety of sources to create custom course packs enhances student learning. Requests to secure the necessary permissions is a lengthy process that should be started as soon as possible. Policies and procedures for handling copyright requests vary from publisher to publisher, as do fees for using copyrighted material. Failing to obtain theses permissions violates the legal rights of the author and/or the publisher, and the possibility for liability exists for faculty members, the College, and the College Store. The College ’s copyright policy, adopted by the President ’s cabinet in 1999,is available at http://www.cortland.edu/copyright/
