Hand Pass Access is a natural fit in Neubig's state-of-the-art dining center.
You will love the convenient entrance into Neubig Dining!
1. Enroll at the ASC Office in Neubig Hall. Bring you ID card. Enrollment is quick and easy.
2. At Neubig Dining Center, swipe your card through the terminal or enter your C-number and place your hand in the reader.
3. A match is made and you have a green light to enter and enjoy!
FAQ about Hand Pass Access
Are you taking my fingerprint or handprint with this machine?
No, the machine is only matching your ID number with the size and shape of your hand that was registered earlier.
Why do I need my C-number or ID Card to enter Neubig, if you have my hand shape on file?
The system can only match your ID number to your hand shape. We are not able to match your hand shape with your ID number. The hand shape that is on file only authenticates you are the owner of that ID card.
How do I enroll?
Go to the ASC office in Neubig Hall Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm. Give them your ID card. Place your hand three times on the reader. Once the enrollment process is complete you can use the Hand Pass lane to enter Neubig.
Will my hand shape be used for any other purpose?
No, the shape of your hand will only be used to authenticate your are the owner of the ID card for entrance into all-you-care-to-eat dining units. The shape of your hand is not used for any other purpose and will be kept confidential.
Can I eat in Neubig without my ID card?
Yes if:
You know your C-number
You enrolled in Hand Pass before you lost your card
You have meals left on your meal plan
Due to the system upgrade, you must present your card to dining in any other dining location.
Can I use the Hand Pass Lane at Neubig Dining if I only have a Connections/Privilege account or Dragon Dollars?
No, the system can only process meals to pay for the entrance into Neubig Dining. Please see the cashier for using another method of payment.
Is it sanitary to put my hand on this reader?
Putting your hand in the reader or opening the Neubig Hall door has the same sanitary concerns. Good handwashing paractices all day long will protect your health. Hand Sanitizer is available at Neubig to use before eating.
